what was "seeds"?
We are now accepting submissions for Fall 2016: "Inspiration lives in this vending machine"

As a new or veteran NSCAD student, it’s likely that this school year you’ll find yourself drudging away in the studio late at night. What could possibly be better solace for late night inspiration and hunger pangs than a conveniently dispensed midnight snack? We ask you to respond to the theme for Fall 2016: if “inspiration lives everywhere,” it certainly can live in a vending machine.

Exhibiting and selling from a vending machine comes with its own unique set of challenges for artists. This venue isn't the most practical space for the display and sales of art, especially from specific disciplines that might be hindered by the fragility of their materials, the size restrictions, the lowered visibility, and lack of tactility. All of these challenges are opportunities to enact creative problem solving, as these limitations act as the parameters that artists tend to enjoy pushing against. The gallery aims to reach out to students and classes to propose to use the machine as a curatorial project. Offering the space to house a rotation of work from the different disciplines within the university is a way to showcase the diversity of talent of students.

Submission can be sent to fallowgallery@gmail.com by September 25th. Please include:
